Mini dental implants are just as strong and secure as conventional implants, but significantly smaller. At about half the size of a standard implant, these titanium posts require much less jawbone for support. This means that patients without enough bone to support conventional implants are often still eligible for mini implants!
Additionally, thanks to their unique design, we use a minimally invasive placement procedure to secure these implants. This minimally invasive process both accelerates your healing journey and makes your recovery more comfortable.
After placing mini implants in your jawbone, these titanium screws immediately begin stabilizing. At that very same appointment, we will place a temporary restoration on top of your implants that both protects your smile and keeps it functional.
Then, after a few short weeks of healing, your full mouth of mini implants will be able to support a final denture restoration.
Full Mouth Dental Implants in Sterling Heights
To place a full mouth of mini dental implants, we must first take a 3D digital X-ray of your smile.
Then, using this image, we can determine where to place each implant to achieve the optimal outcome and avoid important anatomical structures. If you need bone grafting or a sinus lift before your implant treatment, we will complete these procedures before beginning your implant placement.

- Snap-on dentures: When you want a removable prosthetic that stays secure, we recommend a snap-on denture. This restoration relies on 4 to 8 mini implants for support, but is easily removed for cleaning and maintenance.
Semi-removable roundhouse bridges: If you want a denture that stays put but still allows a dentist to remove it, we may use a semi-removable roundhouse bridge. Unlike a traditional denture, this prosthetic needs less of the bulky gum base. Instead, it secures over your implants directly, sometimes without a base, to give it a more natural look. With 6 to 10 mini implants for support, you never need to remove this denture yourself.- Non-removable roundhouse bridges: For the most secure option that looks and feels like your natural teeth, we go with a non-removable roundhouse bridge. As the name implies, this denture is never removed. Instead, it’s cemented on 10 to 12 mini implants to give it incredible stability. Without the need for a denture base or removal, this prosthetic is as close to having your natural teeth back as you can get.
