Our Best Implant Options in 2026
To ensure we provide the best care to our patients, we offer two kinds of dental implants. These titanium screws provide the same great stability and function but differ in size and placement.
The best implant options available in 2026 are conventional dental implants and mini dental implants. Which one is best for your smile depends on the structure of your jawbone!
Conventional Dental Implants
Conventional dental implants are larger in diameter, anything 3 millimeters or more. These implants also have multiple components, requiring separate placement appointments for each part.
To place a conventional implant, we need to make an incision in your gums to access your jaw. Then, we create an opening in the jaw large enough to fit the implant. Once inside your bone, the implant body will integrate over time, forming an incredibly stable connection.
After months of healing, we’ll reopen the incision and place the abutment, or connector piece, that attaches crowns, bridges, and dentures.
However, not everyone has enough bone for a conventional implant. For those without adequate bone structure, we may recommend a mini dental implant instead!
Mini Dental Implants
Mini dental implants are smaller titanium posts, less than 3 millimeters in diameter.
Instead of multiple pieces held together by a screw, mini implants are a single titanium post that we place in a single appointment. Once the implant is in your bone, it will begin integrating, but at a faster rate than conventional implants.
In just a few weeks, your mini implant will be strong enough to support a final restoration, without all the hassle!
But mini dental implants aren’t suited for every patient. For those with softer bone, we may recommend using a conventional implant instead, as mini implants need denser bone for support.
