When porcelain veneers are bonded to enamel and not dentin—there is a difference there, so it has to be done right—they are a fabulous restoration. When bonded to enamel, my first case is still out there. She moved to New York, but for quite a while, she was flying all the way back here just to have me look at them every so often. I’m sure I’ve had a few that I’ve had to replace, but it is very rare when you have to replace one of those. They are great and the longest-lasting restoration in dentistry.
