What Issues Can Dental Crowns Fix?
In this video, Dr. Charles Pearson explains what types of dental problems crowns are designed to fix and when a filling may no longer be enough.
We use a dental crown as opposed to a filling when there are no longer teeth on either side to hold a filling in, or when the tooth must be completely covered. By covering the tooth, we can restore the chewing surface so you can grind your food properly. This is far more efficient than a large, flat filling surface, which does not perform as well for chewing.
