How Do I Care for My Veneers?

In this video, Dr. Charles Pearson explains how to care for porcelain veneers and why certain habits can shorten their lifespan.

Porcelain veneers don’t require any special care. Treat them like you would your natural teeth, except if you are a grinder. It is called bruxing or clenching. Bruxing damages not just veneers but any dental work; it destroys everything.

There is usually evidence of that when you come in. I can see where the teeth have been broken, or there are notches in the roots. It betrays itself, and when we are aware of it, we will have to insist that you take steps to reduce or eliminate the bruxism habit because nothing I do, or any other dentist can do, is going to hold up to that. You will break it.
