Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that we place over your natural teeth. These shells hide blemishes like stains, cracks, and chips, as well as minor misalignments or gaps in your smile. Most often, we perform this treatment to enhance the appearance of your teeth! And because veneers are fully customizable, they let you completely redesign your smile. However, veneers are expensive, especially for patients on a budget. The cost of your veneers depends on several factors. That’s partly why it’s so important to come in for a free consultation at our practice first! There, we will go over costs, find ways to make your care affordable, and potentially help you fit veneers into your budget.

What Are Veneers Made Of?
At our practice, veneers are made from high-quality porcelain. This material is durable, helping protect your natural teeth when placed over your front-facing enamel.

Additionally, the porcelain is completely customizable. Not only can we change the shape, size, and length of your individual teeth, but we can also change the color. Depending on your preference, we may match veneers to the color of your natural teeth or make them a few shades brighter than your enamel to give your smile a confidence boost.
But durability and customization come with a cost.
Many patients find veneer treatment expensive, as high-quality porcelain increases costs. But the durable and customizable material is part of what makes veneer treatment so successful! Think of veneers like an investment in your smile. While the price may seem steep at times, you’re building a smile you can wear proudly for years to come.
Of course, it’s important to note that veneers are vulnerable to bruxism, or teeth grinding. If you grind your teeth, we recommend wearing a bite guard to protect your investment.
What Affects the Cost of Veneers?
Veneer costs depend on a few different factors.
In general, veneer treatment is more expensive than dental crown treatment, as it involves more work. At St. Apollonia Dental, we charge around $1,500 for dental crowns and around $1,700 for veneers. Of course, the more veneers you need, the less expensive each veneer will be, as there’s an economy of scale built into our pricing.
Things that may affect the cost of veneers for patients like you include:
- How many teeth you’re redesigning: The more teeth you improve with veneers, the more expensive your treatment will be. While each veneer will cost less, that is to account for the total price being higher.
- If you need preparatory work: Veneers need healthy teeth for a foundation. Any signs of gum disease or tooth decay must be treated before we begin your treatment, which increases the cost and timeline.
- The complexity of your improvements: You have control over what your new smile will look like. But the more complex your treatment is, the more expensive it will be.
At St. Apollonia Dental, we typically recommend using 8 to 10 veneers for the upper jaw. While there may be exceptions in certain situations, we find that anything less may show your blemished teeth in the back. If you have a few beautiful teeth in the front, you don’t want any darkened or broken teeth to be showing when you smile. As our lead dentist, Dr. Pearson puts it:
“We don’t want six real beauties and then a bunch of brown teeth back there so you look like Mr. Ed. For the younger generation, Mr. Ed was a talking horse, and we don’t want the “horse look.”
What Will Your Veneers Cost?
The cost of your veneers will largely depend on you. With veneer treatment, you get to decide how many teeth you’re altering and how you want to improve them.
During your free consultation, we will determine whether you’re eligible for veneers. If so, we’ll create a custom treatment plan that you help design! Afterward, we’ll provide you with a cost estimate, factoring in the number of teeth, the changes you want, and any preparatory work you need.
Unfortunately, dental insurance typically doesn’t cover veneer treatment. While there are some exceptions, we find that most patients don’t receive insurance coverage and are left with out-of-pocket costs. To help combat these costs, we offer flexible financing!
St. Apollonia Dental partners with third-party financing companies that help split your costs into manageable monthly payments. Once you apply, these companies may accept your application based on a soft-credit check. If you’re eligible, we’ll help you find a plan that works for your budget so you can improve your smile now and pay over time.
