What Is an Implant Denture?
In this video, Dr. Charles Pearson explains what an implant denture is and how implants can make dentures feel significantly more secure and functional.
What’s an implant denture? An implant denture can mean a lot of things, but basically it’s a denture with the plastic covering part of the roof of your mouth and the lower jaw that has additional support provided by mini dental implants and snap-on retainers. That just takes what you have and makes it more secure. Or, if we were to even build you a new set of dentures, we could make them more secure with the implants underneath. That is opposed to something called a roundhouse, where you get rid of all the plastic and your teeth sit right on top of the implants.
