What Is a Snap-In Denture?

In this video, Dr. Charles Pearson explains what a snap-in denture is and why many patients prefer it over traditional removable dentures.

A snap-in denture is one that is supported by implants. I generally do eight on the top jaw when I do this procedure. On the underside of the teeth being replaced, there are holes in the denture that have O-ring couplings. They snap in and stay in place that way.

It is a removable roundhouse bridge in a nutshell. It is a little cheaper because we don’t have to put as many implants in. Again, it is my preferred one to do because if anything ever goes wrong from my end, I can get in there and take it out, fix it, or repair it. I am usually the only one who can get these off unless the patient works really hard. I don’t have to worry about patients taking them out, dropping them in a sink, and breaking them, which can happen. Snap-in dentures mean no more plastic. You speak better, taste your food better, and chew better, because it is better.
