How Do I Care for My Implant Denture?

In this video, Dr. Charles Pearson explains how to properly care for implant dentures and why one cleaning tool plays a major role in long-term success.

So, we have just delivered your roundhouse bridge or your implant dentures, and you ask, “Doctor, how do I care for it?”

As of now, we have probably alluded to that a few times, but what I insist on is that you use this thing called a Waterpik as an adjunct to your cleaning. I insist on this. Dentures sitting on top of implants are hard to get at. Impossible, actually. In order to keep them clean and keep your worst enemy, the bacteria, at bay, this does a wonderful job.

When mixed with 25% cheap hydrogen peroxide that you can get in any store, it greatly eliminates the risk of problems. It is almost miraculous, so I insist on that. That is your number one option for keeping it clean. Brush the best you can around the outsides. There is still room for the toothbrush up in here, but to shoot into those areas that you can’t get to, this is the guy. By the way, we give you one when we deliver your dentures; you will get one of these as part of your treatment, free of cost.

If you or someone you love is struggling with missing teeth or loose dentures, contact Dr. Charles Pearson at St. Apollonia Dental in Sterling Heights, MI, for a free consultation to learn how our dental implant treatments can enhance your smile, improve your function, and restore your self-confidence.
