What Is a Roundhouse Bridge?

In this video, Dr. Charles Pearson explains what mini dental implants are and how they differ from traditional implants in size, placement protocol, and cost.

A roundhouse bridge is pretty much a replacement for a complete denture. In other words, we are replacing all the teeth, but we are getting rid of all the plastic and things associated with a conventional denture. It is just teeth, and those teeth are supported by implants. It looks something like this; it’s kind of hard to explain, but a roundhouse replaces all the teeth.

These are cemented on top, and they stay put; this is a cemented type. Then there is the type I do quite a few of, where you don’t need as many mini-implants, but it’s the same thing. We have no plastic, just teeth. But on the underside, we have little rubber cushioners that take some of the stress off of these implants, so we don’t need as many. Again, they stay in, and I usually make these so that only I can get them out. We do that at your yearly checkup appointments; we remove them, clean them up for you, and put them back.
