The Dental Bridge Process Explained Step by Step
In this video, Dr. Charles Pearson explains how the dental bridge process works and what happens to the teeth supporting the restoration.
For a traditional bridge, you have healthy teeth on either side of the gap. The procedure is basically the same as doing a crown. We’re reducing the dimensions of the tooth by about 1.5 millimeters all the way around to make room for that cap or crown to go over the top. The only difference is that we’re going to have two replacement teeth attached to the two crowns, and those attached teeth will fill the gap.
