Does Insurance Cover Dental Bridges?

In this video, Dr. Charles Pearson explains how dental insurance typically handles coverage for bridges and why benefits can vary between policies.

From an insurance standpoint, most dental insurance companies I have dealt with over my years of practice cover bridges at 50%. This is not necessarily 50% of my fees, but 50% of a fee they determine, which they call their “allowable amount.” This can vary from company to company, but it is a covered benefit for most insurance carriers. There is sometimes an elimination period, or a lack of coverage if the tooth was lost before the patient had the insurance.
