What Is an Implant-Supported Bridge?
In this video, Dr. Charles Pearson explains what mini dental implants are and how they differ from traditional implants in size, placement protocol, and cost.
Conventional implants can be used to replace as many as two missing teeth (four teeth in all) using only two implants. But mini-implants have an application here, too. While not technically known as a bridge, it is a one-piece replacement. It gets cemented onto these small-diameter implants and replaces all of them. We keep the teeth all together on the small-diameter implants for strength purposes. It makes for much stronger situations, and we are less likely to break off a mini-implant. They work quite well when they are used in the right situations.
